DRUMMER's first issue arrives, making it now the second-oldest gay publication in the world. Equal parts cultural legacy and sexual liberator, from the very beginning it's broken new ground and pushed boundaries with no plans to let up.

In its early years DRUMMER showed men who they could be and that as kinky fuckers, they weren't alone. It made connections through its classifieds for men to meet one another wherever they lived in an era before smartphones and the Internet. To this day it provides an outlet for every kind of sexual fetish between men, showing its readers that kink’s only limit is imagination. Above all DRUMMER champions tolerance and acceptance of every kind and everyone.

As a gay cultural force DRUMMER is unique. It gave an outlet for erotic works to some of the greatest gay creatives of all time who were just starting out, like Mapplethorpe, Rex and Steven Saylor. The tradition continues today with Editor-in-Chief Darkqwolf deliberately seeking out and prioritizing the work of up-and-coming artists from around the globe.
